USA Today just released the 10 Best Haunted Hotels in America list and we are thrilled (and kind of terrified) to see that four Revinate Marketing customers made the list: 1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa, Bourbon Orleans Hotel, Hotel Sorrento, and The Stanley Hotel. And yes, we now have a ‘haunted hotel’ segment for our own prospecting efforts since clearly, we need all ten!
And while we’re just joking, some customers did successfully use a campaign created in Revinate Marketing to encourage guests to vote for their hotel, while others used Revinate Marketing to promote their Halloween events and offers. Check out their campaigns, below, to get some inspiration for your own eerie emails.
1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa
1886 Crescent Hotel and Spa claims to be “America’s most haunted hotel.” Don’t believe it? We dare you to visit the property and watch ghost videos, learn about the phenomenon that is Eureka Springs, and participate in a massive ghost hunt during the three-day Eureka Springs Paranormal Weekend.
We love that Crescent Hotel kept the email simple with black and white graphics, only adding bold colors to draw the eye to the most important part of the campaign, the voting. ‘Last Chance to Vote’ and ‘Click Here to Vote’ jump off of the page, helping to create a sense of urgency and excitement.
Bourbon Orleans Hotel
New Orleans is the most haunted city in the United States and in addition to hosting guests, Bourbon Orleans Hotel hosts ghosts from the Orleans Ballroom and Theater, the business that previously occupied the property. Ghost sightings range from a Confederate soldier to children and nuns, alleged victims of a yellow fever epidemic that occurred when the hotel was an orphanage.
We love the relevant, beautifully chilling image in this email. In addition, telling the recipient that “Your Vote Counts” makes the contest personal. And, in addition to asking people to vote, Bourbon Orleans Hotel also takes the opportunity to promote related offers, including a package deal and a haunted history tour. Smart.
At this Seattle hotel, you might be graced with the spirit of a guest, Alice B. Toklas, who checked in but never checked out. Or, you might hear an inexplicable piano playing in the penthouse suite and feel an unsettling presence in and outside room 408. We don’t want to know what happened in there.
The Stanley Hotel
Stephen King made this Colorado hotel famous in the ‘70s with his best-selling book and movie, “The Shining.” Today, brave guests can walk the long, creepy hallways and book a Ghost Adventure Package, complete with a room on the infamous fourth floor.
